State of Maine and State of Texas Blanket Contract

BCDS EMD holds blanket contracts with the Maine Emergency Management Agency and the Texas Department of State Health Services to provide the following during critical incidents or public health emergencies in the state:

  • Emergency facility support services to the entire state
  • Incident management teams to support health and medical response activities
  • Medical shelters for individuals who require personal medical attention
  • Deployment of emergency response vehicles, which include mobile clinics, mobile incident command post and transportation units that house a cache of durable medical equipment and shelter push packs
  • Coordination of logistical support for medical shelters, including: acquisition of medical consumables, medical specialty equipment, staple and dietary food commodities, specialty command and communication equipment
  • Development of medical surge capacity through the establishment of alternate care sites in communities throughout the states
  • Training and participation in training and exercises relating to individuals with medical needs that focuses on disaster preparation, response and public health emergencies
  • Other health emergency activities, including medical response and preparation
