EMD has and continues to support local, state and federal governments, providing turn-key Emergency Support Function (ESF) #6 Mass Care, Emergency Assistance, Housing and Human Services and ESF #8 Public Health, Healthcare, and Emergency Medical Services during National Incident Management System (NIMS) Type I, Type II and Type III incidents. Deployment capabilities consist of all-hazards turnkey response, including but not limited to temporary facilities and command platforms, equipment, supplies and fully staffed Incident Management Teams, Medical Staffing Teams, Disaster Case Management Teams, and Disaster Mental Health Teams. EMD personnel have responded to every major critical incident in the U.S. in recent history, including the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, several public health pandemics, multiple national and international mass fatality events, and many hurricanes, tornados, fires, floods, earthquakes and other events.
